There is nothing a person can do in this world that is more important than making it a better place for everyone to live. It is why people do things that they feel just need to be done. Like seeing what lies over the horizon, climbing a mountain unconquered or stepping foot on the moon.
Human achievement is its own reward, everyone benefits when they can share an experience that would have otherwise been unobtainable to them. We believe it is shameful if there is a way in which something can be done to advance human achievement, yet it is left for someone else to do. It is more than just "shameful,” it is a stain on humanity. It says," It is not worth the effort and why should I even try?"
